Kindergarten students are allowed to check out 1 book at a time for a loan period of 2 weeks. They are invited to visit the media center daily, however. Daily library visits will be left to the discretion of homeroom teachers. Kindergarten classes will have 2 scheduled library visits a month.
Students in grades 1-5 may have 2 books checked out at a time. The loan period is 2 weeks. Exceptions will be made for students required to check out books for a book report or novel study. In either case, a student could potentially have several items out on their account at one time. It will be up to the student to renew any items being used for a book report or novel study as their loan period will also be 2 weeks.
Overdue notices will be sent home each Thursday. Please note: We do not charge fines for overdue library materials. We do, however, charge fines for items that are lost or damage. Click here to read our policy regarding lost and damaged items.
Parents/Guardians of Mountain Park students are encouraged to register for a library account. Library accounts are good for 1 year. Parents/Guardians may borrow up to 5 books for a period of 2 weeks.
Parents/Guardians will not be charged for overdue items. However, in the event any items are lost or damaged, the same policy that applies to students will be enforced.
